DOMAINE PREMIER CHAPITRE
As wines lovers, Éric and Gatienne Bouvier are writing a new chapter in their lives.
He was an airline pilot, and is now a full time winemaker in their micro wine estate located in Mercurey (Burgundy). She is a lawyer and helps him in the fields and at the winery, all year long.

The estate will be organic in 2021.
Our estate
Our wine estate is located in the village of Mercurey in South Burgundy.
​
2017 is our first vintage for a confidential production of circa 6,000 bottles.
​
In the fields we work with a small caterpillar to avoid compacting the soil.
​
We use no chemical herbicide nor any systemic pest product.
​
We keep our vines about 1.5 meter high.
The yield is limited to hl 35 per ha. Grapes are hand picked and collected in small kg 12 cases to preserve the quality of the harvest when placed in the tanks.

Our cuvées
We currently produce two red Mercurey DOC cuvées, from the great pinot noir variety which enhances the terroirs of Burgundy.

We are happy to share our great adventure with our two confidential cuvées.

4000 Pieds
This cuvée originates from a very small plot planted with 4,000 54-year-old vines. The harvest is de-stemmed before undergoing a long pre-fermentation maceration at low temperature. For a more delicate extraction of the tannins, anthocyanins and aromas, we do not punch down.

A fruity and cheerful wine, that can be tasted immediately.
